How we obtain our allergen information

Many of the products we deliver are manufactured or produced by other businesses, including our dairy, bakery and branded-product suppliers.

We obtain ingredient and allergen information from the relevant supplier or manufacturer and use that information when listing products through our website.

For our Fresh From The Bakery range, for example, we obtain the bakery's ingredient and allergen specifications for the products we sell. Where we apply our own product label, the information used is based on the information supplied to us by the bakery.

For branded products, customers should also check the manufacturer's packaging, as this remains an important source of the current product information.

Allergens are shown with individual products

Where applicable, we provide ingredient and allergen information against the individual product.

This is particularly important with products that have different varieties. A White loaf, Tiger loaf and Granary loaf, for example, may not have identical ingredients or allergen information.

We therefore don't want to make assumptions simply because two products look similar.

What about our Deals & Bundles?

Our bundles can contain several different products, each with its own ingredients and allergens.

We therefore provide an allergen warning on our bundle information and ask customers with an allergy or intolerance to check the individual products contained within the bundle.

Where choices or substitutions are available, customers should check the information relating to the particular products they select.

We check — but recipes can change

Suppliers and manufacturers can occasionally change recipes, ingredients, production methods or allergen information.

We will take reasonable steps to keep the information we provide up to date using information supplied to us. However, customers with allergies should always check the current information supplied with the food before consuming it, particularly where a manufacturer's original packaging is present.

If something doesn't look right or you're uncertain, please don't simply assume — ask us.

We would rather check than guess

This is particularly important to us.

If you contact The Milk Round Company with an allergen or ingredient question, we may not always know the answer immediately.

And that's okay.

We would much rather tell you that we need to check than give you an answer we're not confident about.

Where necessary, we'll go back to the relevant supplier or manufacturer and make enquiries to obtain further information for you.

We cannot provide medical advice or guarantee that a product will be suitable for a particular individual's allergy, but we can help you obtain the product information you need to make an informed decision.
